The Bridge Educational Society is seeking an Early Childhood Manager to join our Early Years Centre team. The EC Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day operation of all childcare programs in compliance with Interior Health licensing regulation. The EC Manager works closely with the Early Years Faculty, the Early Years Director of Education and the BES Administrative team to deliver high quality Waldorf childcare programs.
Requirements
- Strong administration and computer skills
- Strong communication and written skills, along with an approachable manner towards parents and colleagues
- The ability to multitask and handle multiple projects
- BC ECE certification
- 5+ years of direct experience in ratio in EC programs
- Demonstrate knowledge of the childcare regulations in the BC Community Care and Assisted Living Act
- Direct supervisory/leadership/administration experience preferred
- Must be willing to be flexible in schedule; shifts can start as early as 7am or end as late as 6pm depending on the day/need
- Must be willing to work in a childcare float/break relief position as part of the regular work week, and in ratio as needed
- Direct experience with Waldorf early years practices/training desirable, with a minimum of a high interest in Waldorf early childhood pedagogical practices
Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensure student and staff records are accurate and up to date
- Maintain and organize all digital files
- Oversee inventory and purchasing of program supplies, health and safety supplies, cleaning supplies and food
- Manage waitlist and enrolment/intake process for new students
- Oversee orientation, training and scheduling of Early Years Center staff
- Assist with staff evaluations within the first 3 months and annually thereafter
- Ensure licensing requirements are met in all programs and maintain positive working relationships with health and licensing inspectors and agents
- Work proactively with the BES Administration and Facilities team to ensure full and timely information flow and ongoing policy and procedure review and implementation
