Okanagan Waldorf School
Okanagan Waldorf School offers an education that inspires a love of learning and helps children grow into confident, creative,
and contributing members of their communities. Our academically rigorous curriculum brings together experience-based learning
and the arts, with lessons shaped to meet children at each stage of development.
Since 2006, we have welcomed children from Cherryville, Lumby, Vernon, Armstrong, and Lake Country. Okanagan Waldorf School
is a member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).
Our Kindergarten through Grade 7 program is classified as Group 1 and receives partial funding from the BC Ministry of Education
and Child Care. Our Grade 8 program is classified as Group 3. It does not receive provincial operating funding and is not subject
to the same Ministry curriculum and teacher certification requirements as the Group 1 program.

Waldorf Curriculum
Within the Waldorf curriculum, teachers incorporate academic lessons with music, stories, art, and outdoor activities; all with the intention of engaging the student in a multi-facetted way where their breadth of understanding can be maximized and even challenged.
